Devotional Message:
(2 Corinthians 5:4)
"While we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened."

Observation:
Paul uses an image that is easy to understand, no matter who you are — the image of a tent. Tents are light, temporary shelters. Maybe some of you have gone camping before and slept in a tent. On the first day, it might feel fun and exciting. But after a few days, the tent starts to feel small and uncomfortable. You miss your sturdy house, your warm bed, and the protection of strong walls. You realize that tents are not built to last for a long time. They can get holes, they can leak when it rains, and the wind can easily knock them down. Eventually, you long to pack up the tent and go home.

Paul says our human bodies are just like these tents. While we live here on earth, we are not in our permanent home. Our bodies grow tired. We feel pain. We face sickness, weakness, and stress. We struggle with broken relationships, worries about the future, and the pressures of daily life. These burdens make us groan. We long for something better. And that longing is not wrong — it is a sign that our hearts were made for more.

Paul says we do not wish to be “unclothed,” meaning we don’t just want to leave our bodies behind and be without life. Instead, we desire to be “clothed” with our heavenly dwelling. In other words, we are waiting and hoping for the day when God gives us new bodies — perfect, strong, free from pain and sin — and places us in our eternal home with Him. Paul calls this moment when "what is mortal will be swallowed up by life." Life will win. Eternity will swallow up all that is temporary. Death, pain, and weakness will all be gone.

Application:
This truth has deep meaning for how we live today. Many of us are carrying heavy loads. Maybe you feel worn out from work, family problems, or health issues. Maybe you are tired from waiting for answers to prayers
