Devotional Message:

(Luke 9:23-24)
"Then he said to them all: 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.'"

Today’s passage reminds us of the call to follow Jesus with our whole hearts. Jesus says, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." This means we need to put aside our own desires and make Jesus the priority in our lives every single day.

Taking up our cross daily means being willing to face challenges and sacrifices for the sake of our faith. It might be as simple as showing kindness when it's hard or standing up for what is right, even when it's unpopular. When we choose to live for Jesus, we might have to give up certain comforts or face difficulties, but Jesus promises that this is how we truly find life.

Think about what you can do today to follow Jesus more closely. Maybe it’s forgiving someone who hurt you, helping a neighbor, or spending more time in prayer. Remember, the small steps you take in faith each day add up to a life that honors God.
