Devotional Message:
(Luke 1:3)
"[Having] carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you."

Observation:

When we read Luke 1:3, we see something special about Luke's approach to writing the Gospel. He didn’t write casually. He didn’t write based on what others were saying without checking it out. He took the time to carefully investigate everything. That means he listened to eyewitnesses, asked questions, studied accounts, and looked at the facts. Then, he organized everything into a clear and logical story so others could understand what really happened.

Luke wasn’t writing a fairy tale or a myth. He was documenting real history—events that changed the world. He was writing about Jesus Christ: His birth, His life, His teachings, His miracles, His death, and His resurrection. But before writing, he made sure he knew the truth. He was passionate about getting it right.

This teaches us something powerful: God values truth. The Bible isn’t just a book of spiritual thoughts—it’s a book grounded in truth, history, and reality. And God used people like Luke, who were truth seekers, to preserve that truth for generations to come. Luke could’ve been content just hearing stories about Jesus, but he went deeper. He wanted to know for himself. He wanted others, like us to have confidence in what we believe.

In a time when stories were passed down by word of mouth, that kind of careful research was rare and valuable. Luke didn’t treat the message of Jesus casually. He treated it as the most important message in the world—and that’s exactly what it is.

Application:

Today, we live in a world full of voices. We’re constantly bombarded with opinions, assumptions, and content that often sounds like truth but may not be. Social media, news outlets, entertainment—even conversations with friends—can sometimes mix truth with confusion.
