"Then Jesus said, 'Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?'"

Devotional Message:
This verse comes from a powerful story. Martha’s brother, Lazarus, had died, and Jesus arrived four days later. Martha was filled with grief and probably a lot of questions—why did Jesus wait? Why didn’t He come earlier to heal Lazarus? And in that moment of pain and confusion, Jesus invited her to believe, even though her heart was heavy.

Imagine being in Martha’s place. She had just lost her brother, and everything in her world felt broken. All she could see was the tomb, a symbol of loss and finality. But Jesus wanted her to see beyond the tomb, beyond her disappointment and hurt. He wanted her to see that God was at work in ways she couldn’t understand yet.

Observation:
Often, we face moments like Martha’s, where we feel surrounded by situations that seem beyond hope. We have our own “tombs” that we look at—broken relationships, financial struggles, health issues, or unanswered prayers. And like Martha, we sometimes feel that if God had acted sooner, things might be different. We might even wonder, “Where is God in all this?”

Jesus’ words to Martha remind us that God’s timing and ways are different from ours. His glory may not come in the way we expect, but it’s always there for those who trust. Jesus knew that raising Lazarus would reveal God’s power in an even greater way than healing him would have. And in our lives, the things we see as delays or disappointments might just be preparing us to witness God’s glory in a way we wouldn’t expect.

Application:
So how do we apply this in our daily lives? First, Jesus invites us to believe—to hold onto faith even when we can’t see the outcome. Faith doesn’t mean that we deny the hard things in life; it means we choose to trust God in the midst of
