Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance.

Mary, the sister of Lazarus, took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. This act of love and devotion teaches us powerful lessons about our own relationship with Christ.

Firstly, Mary's action shows us the immense value she placed on Jesus. The ointment she used was of great cost, representing her willingness to give the best of herself to honor and worship the Lord. In our own lives, may we remember that Jesus is worthy of nothing less than our deepest devotion and reverence.
