Dying to Self: The Beauty of Letting Go
READ: John 12:10-50

(John 12:24)
“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

This passage is a metaphor that Jesus used to teach us about the concept of self-sacrifice and the profound impact it can have on our lives. Just as a grain of wheat needs to fall into the ground and die to bring forth new life, we too must be willing to let go of our old selves, our fears, our limitations, and our selfish desires if we want to grow and bear fruit in our spiritual journey.

At times, life can be challenging, and we may face difficulties and setbacks that make us feel discouraged and alone. However, this verse reminds us that there is a greater purpose behind the struggles we encounter. It teaches us that sometimes we have to die to our own desires, ambitions, and comforts in order to experience true growth and transformation.

Think about the grain of wheat that falls into the ground. It gives up its outer shell - it sacrifices itself. In this sacrifice, it undergoes a process of growth and eventually emerges as new life, producing a beautiful harvest of fruit. Similarly, when we surrender ourselves to God's will and allow our old selves to die, we make room for His divine purpose to work in our lives. It is through this process of surrender and self-sacrifice that we can experience profound spiritual growth and bear abundant fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

It's important to remember that this process is not always easy or comfortable. It requires humility, perseverance, and trust in God's perfect plan. But take heart, my friend, for the rewards are
