FINDING FAITH IN THE UNKNOWN

READ: John 13:1-30

(John 13:7)

Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”

John 13:7 reminds us of a significant moment in Jesus' ministry. Jesus was washing the feet of His disciples, displaying a humbleness and servanthood that left His followers astonished. Peter, in his eagerness to understand this act, questioned Jesus, saying, "You shall never wash my feet." It was then that Jesus responded with these impactful words: "You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will"

These words hold great significance for us today. They remind us that there are times in our lives when we may not fully understand what is happening or why we are facing certain challenges. It can be easy to question God's plan or doubt ourselves during these moments. However, Jesus reassures us that even when we don't understand, He is still at work in our lives.

In times of confusion, it's important to remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are beyond our comprehension. We may not always see the bigger picture or understand the purpose behind certain situations, but we can trust that God is working everything out for our good.

It is in these moments of uncertainty that our faith is truly tested. We must learn to surrender our need for immediate answers and instead cultivate a spirit of trust. We can find comfort in the fact that God sees the end from the beginning and knows what is best for us.

When we face challenges, let us not be discouraged. Instead, let us hold on to the truth that our trials have a purpose and that God will use them to shape us and strengthen us.

John 13:7 encourages us to have faith in God's timing. Sometimes, He may
