"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Devotional Message:

Let’s take a closer look at this verse. Jesus spoke these words to His disciples during the Last Supper. Imagine their situation—they were about to face the most difficult and uncertain time of their lives. Jesus, their teacher and friend, was preparing to leave them, and they didn’t fully understand what was coming. They felt anxious and afraid.

But Jesus reassured them with a gift: His peace. This isn’t just any kind of peace. It’s not the temporary peace you feel after solving a problem or the relief you get from a relaxing day. The peace Jesus gives is constant and unshaken, even in the middle of chaos.

Now think about our lives. How often do we feel troubled or afraid? Maybe it’s because of a problem at work, a broken relationship, or fear of the future. The world offers all kinds of solutions for peace—money, entertainment, success—but these are temporary. They fade away and often leave us wanting more.

Jesus’ peace is different. It’s a deep assurance that no matter what happens, He is in control. It’s knowing that He loves you, walks with you, and works everything for your good, even when you don’t see it yet.

How can we experience this peace in our daily lives? First, we must trust in Jesus. His peace is a gift, but like any gift, we need to accept it. When worries overwhelm us, we can pray and tell Him about our fears. Instead of dwelling on what we can’t control, we focus on what He promises.

Second, we need to remember His presence. Jesus promised that He is always with us through the Holy Spirit. You are never alone, even in your darkest moments. Take time to be still, read His Word, and let Him remind you of His love.
