Devotional Message:
(John 17:3)
"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

Observation:
In John 17:3, Jesus tells us what eternal life truly means: it is not just about living forever, but about knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom God sent. This "knowing" isn’t just about having facts in your head; it’s about having a deep, personal relationship with God. Think of how we build relationships with friends or family—we spend time with them, listen to them, and open our hearts to them. That’s the kind of connection Jesus is talking about.

Eternal life starts now, not just after we die. When we walk closely with God, we experience peace in the middle of chaos, joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances, and guidance for every decision. Many people chase after happiness in material things, achievements, or approval from others, but these can never fill the emptiness inside us. Only knowing God can truly satisfy our hearts and give us the life we were created to live.

Notice also that Jesus includes Himself in this verse. To know God, we must know Jesus. He shows us who God is through His life, teachings, and sacrifice on the cross. By believing in Him and following His ways, we grow closer to the Father.

Application:

1. Spend Time with God Daily
Just as you get to know someone by spending time with them, we grow in our relationship with God by talking to Him in prayer and reading His Word. Set aside quiet moments every day to listen to Him. Ask yourself, “What is God teaching me today?”

2. Follow Jesus' Example
Jesus shows us how to live a life that pleases God. When we love others, forgive those who hurt us, and obey God’s commands, we draw closer to Him. Look for opportunities each day to reflect His love to the people around you.
