(John 21:17)
Peter said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.

In this passage, we witness a conversation between Jesus and Peter after Jesus' resurrection. Jesus poses a question to Peter not once, not twice, but three times: "Do you love Me?" Each time Peter responds with an affirmed and heartfelt expression of love for his Savior.

It's important to note that Peter was grieved by the repetition of this question. He may have felt that his previous denial of Jesus during His crucifixion made him unworthy of such a direct inquiry about his love. However, Jesus, in His infinite wisdom and love, knew exactly what Peter needed.

Jesus' response to Peter's expression of love holds tremendous significance for us all: "Feed My sheep." With these three words, Jesus reveals His plan for Peter's purpose and calling—to care for and serve His people.

But what does this mean for us?
First, let it remind us that no matter how many times we may have fallen, denied, or doubted, Jesus' love for us remains unwavering. He seeks to restore and affirm us in our love for Him. Just as He did with Peter, He offers us forgiveness and the opportunity to start anew.

Secondly, it encourages us to examine our love for Jesus. Are we truly devoted to Him? Do we love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind? Let us declare our love for Him, just as Peter did, with sincerity and loyalty.

Furthermore, Jesus' command to Peter, "Feed My sheep," reminds us of our responsibility to care for and serve others. We are called to be vessels of His love, extending grace, compassion, and assistance to those around us. Let us seek opportunities to be Christ's hands and feet, bringing comfort and nourishment to those in need.
