Devotional Message:
(John 21:17)
"The third time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ He said, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep.’”

Observation:
In this verse, we witness a powerful conversation between Jesus and Peter. After Peter had denied Jesus three times before the crucifixion, Jesus now asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Each time Peter responds affirmatively, Jesus tells him to “Feed my sheep.” This repetition is significant. It wasn’t just a reminder of Peter’s failure; it was Jesus’ way of restoring him, showing Peter that his love and commitment could still be used for God’s purpose.

Jesus’ question wasn’t about emotions alone. He wasn’t asking Peter to simply declare his feelings; He was calling Peter to demonstrate his love through action. “Feed my sheep” meant taking care of Jesus’ followers, nurturing them spiritually, and leading them as a shepherd leads his flock. This was a commissioning—Jesus was entrusting Peter with an important mission.

This moment shows us that Jesus doesn’t give up on us because of our mistakes. Just as Peter denied Him and was still forgiven and restored, we too can experience God’s grace and be used for His work. It also teaches us that true love for Jesus is shown in how we care for others.

Application:

1. Restoration After Failure:
Like Peter, we have all made mistakes. Maybe we’ve denied Jesus in subtle ways—by choosing our comfort over standing for Him or by prioritizing other things over our relationship with Him. But this verse reminds us that Jesus is ready to forgive and restore us. Don’t let guilt hold you back; come to Him in repentance and let Him use you again.

2. Demonstrate Your Love for Jesus:
Jesus’ words “Feed my sheep” remind us that loving
