Devotional Message:
(Ephesians 4:29)
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Ephesians 4:29 reminds us of the immense power that our words hold. Words can either tear someone down or build someone up. This verse calls us to avoid "unwholesome talk," which includes gossip, harsh criticism, or anything negative that can hurt others. Instead, we are encouraged to speak words that are "helpful for building others up according to their needs." This means that our words should be chosen carefully, with the intention of encouraging, comforting, and guiding others.

Think about a time when someone said something that made you feel really good about yourself. Maybe it was a compliment, a kind word, or just someone acknowledging your efforts. Those words had the power to lift your spirits, to motivate you, and to make your day better. On the other hand, we can all remember times when someone said something that hurt us deeply. Those words might have stayed with us, affecting how we saw ourselves and even how we interacted with others. This shows how our words have the power to shape lives.

The Bible is full of wisdom about the importance of our speech. Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death." This means that what we say can bring life—through encouragement, love, and truth—or bring death—through negativity, lies, and harshness. As followers of Christ, we are called to be life-bringers, speaking words that reflect the love of God to those around us.

Application:

Applying this verse to our daily lives starts with being more conscious of what we say. Before speaking, we should ask ourselves a few important questions: "Is what I’m about to say kind? Will it help the person I’m speaking to? Will it
