September 12: Day 255 | 365 BIBLE VERSES – Daily Devotional Today [Our Daily Bread] | MamClaireTV
(Ephesians 5:8)
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light."
In this verse, Paul reminds us of our remarkable transformation in Christ. We were once engulfed by darkness, characterized by sin and ignorance. However, through our faith in Christ, we have become children of light. Our lives should radiate the light of Christ, dispelling darkness wherever we go.
Application: As children of light:
1. Reject Darkness: Identify and reject any areas of darkness in your life, such as sinful habits, impure thoughts, or negative influences.
2. Embrace God's Light: Seek God's guidance and wisdom in all aspects of your life. Let His light illuminate your path and decisions.
3. Live Righteously: Strive for goodness, righteousness, and truth in your actions and interactions. Be a reflection of Christ's character.
4. Exposing Darkness: When you encounter sinful behavior or deception, don't participate in it. Instead, kindly and courageously expose it with the truth of God's Word.
In these verses from Ephesians 5, we are reminded of the transformation that takes place in the life of a believer. We are called to live as children of God, following the example of Christ, who loved us sacrificially.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the transformative power of your love and grace. We acknowledge that we were once in darkness but are now children of light through Christ. Help us to live in a way that reflects this transformation, rejecting darkness, embracing your light, and living righteously. Give us the courage to expose darkness and share your truth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
