(Colossians 1:15-17)
“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Devotional Message:
In this passage, we are given a clear picture of who Jesus is and why He is so important in our lives. The passage tells us that Jesus is the image of the invisible God. This means that if we want to know what God is like, we can look at Jesus. He perfectly shows us God’s character—His love, power, and wisdom. Jesus was not only present at creation, but everything was created through Him and for Him. This includes everything we see, like the sky, the mountains, the oceans, and even things we don’t see, like angels and spiritual powers.

Jesus is above all things—higher than any ruler or authority, whether here on earth or in heaven. And here’s something comforting: in Him, everything holds together. This means that He sustains the world, and He sustains us. Sometimes, life feels like it’s falling apart. We experience challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties. But this passage reminds us that no matter how chaotic things seem, Jesus is holding everything in place. He’s the glue that keeps our lives from unraveling.
