REMAINING IN JESUS | Matthew 16:18 | Daily Devotional
“I will build my church.” — Matthew 16:18
What does it mean to remain in Jesus when life becomes difficult, prayers seem unanswered, and we cannot understand God's plan? This daily devotional is a time for Christian reflection, prayer, quiet time with God, and practical application as we learn what it means to stay connected to Jesus in every season.
Matthew 16:18 reminds us that Jesus is the foundation of our faith. He is the One who builds, leads, protects, and sustains His church. Our confidence does not have to depend on changing circumstances, people, emotions, or our own strength. When we remain in Jesus, we remain connected to the One who never changes.
In this devotional, reflect on what it means to remain faithful to Jesus during difficult seasons, trust Him when we do not understand His plan, spend daily time in prayer and God's Word, depend on Him instead of ourselves, wait patiently for His timing, and continue following Him even when people disappoint us.
This is a reminder that Jesus is our true foundation. When life changes, He remains. When people fail, He remains faithful. When we feel weak, He remains our strength. When we cannot see what God is doing, we can still choose to trust Him.
Take a few quiet moments today to reflect and ask yourself: Am I truly remaining in Jesus? Am I depending on Him every day? Am I allowing Him to shape the way I live?
May this devotional encourage you to stay close to Jesus, trust God's plan, strengthen your prayer life, meditate on Scripture, and remain faithful in every season.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help us to remain in You every day. When we are weak, give us strength. When we are confused, give us wisdom. When we are discouraged, remind us of Your faithfulness. Keep our hearts connected to You and help us trust You
