Daily Devotions: A Person’s Spiritual Condition Affects What They Can Be Taught - November 5, 2026
Hebrews 5:11–12 (NLT) – “There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others...”
In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall shows us why some long-time churchgoers struggle to comprehend basic spiritual truths. Drawing from Hebrews chapter 5, he explains that spiritual dullness is not a lack of intellectual capability, but a condition of the heart caused by a failure to walk in love.

Pastor Sumrall shows that harboring anger, bitterness, or resentment blocks prayers and prevents believers from seeing God's promises fulfilled, resulting in spiritual indifference. By releasing offense and actively walking in love, believers restore their spiritual appetite and experience the explosive, life-changing power of God's Word.
