Daily Devotions: The Misuse Of Wealth - November 8, 2026
COP Manila
Ezekiel 7:20 (NLT) – “They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make detestable idols and images. Therefore I will make all their wealth disgusting to them.”
In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall addresses the spiritual danger of misusing the blessings God entrusts to us. Drawing from Ezekiel chapter 7 and the account of the golden calf in Exodus, he clarifies that wealth itself is not evil, but allowing God's gifts, such as homes, businesses, or possessions, to become idols draws our hearts away from Him.

Pastor Sumrall warns that when a blessing replaces God in our priorities, it loses its joy and eventually becomes a source of spiritual decay. To truly enjoy the material and spiritual prosperity God provides, believers must keep their hearts free from the love of money and continuously seek Him first.
