Daily Devotions: Two Kinds of Savings - July 3, 2025
COP Manila
Scripture Focus: 1 Chronicles 18
In today’s Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall shares a powerful principle hidden in the story of King David’s victories. As God gave David success and great wealth, he didn’t just spend it all. David carefully set aside two kinds of resources: one treasury for daily needs and another treasury of dedicated things—gold, silver, and bronze saved for the future work of God. Decades later, Solomon was able to build the magnificent temple because David and Israel’s leaders had been setting aside these treasures over many years. Pastor Sumrall encourages us to do the same in our families: maintain regular savings for everyday needs, but also build a second “treasury” to prepare for future opportunities and God-given projects. When God blesses you with abundance, learn to set something special apart—you’re not just saving, you’re preparing for the destiny God has ahead.
