A lot of songs in the Christian music space talks about the amazing love of God and His unbounded grace for His children–and rightfully so! God deserves all the praise and glory for His wonderful heart. But sometimes I think that this gets too emphasized, that people fail to recognize His equally important holiness and righteousness. God's grace would not be as glorious as it is if we do not understand the humbling truth that He is literally the only One in the universe who is perfect, sinless, and worthy to be called good. Not even the kindest person on earth, or the most law-abiding human could stand before the judgment of God. Even in our best days, we are wretched apart from the righteousness of Christ.
