DAY 14: Tuesday of Second Week of Lent - SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM LENT TOWARDS EASTER
A reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah (Is 1:10, 16-20) reminds us to totally turn a new leaf at this very moment we are reading or hearing this command from the Lord. We are assured of forgiveness from the Lord of all the sins we might have done if only we beg for His mercy and repent of all the right things that we should have done but failed to do so. In Matthew 23: 1-12, the Lord teaches us to listen to the Church authorities for they are commissioned to teach and guide us on morals and matters of spirituality. However, we should not be disheartened if people should see them doing things contrary to what they preach. Our duty as true Christians is just to do and follow all the good things they say and do but avoid imitating their bad examples. Again, Fr. Budge gives his reflections on these readings as he continues on to join us in our spiritual journey on this season of Lent.
