DAY 18: Saturday of Second Week of Lent - SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM LENT TOWARDS EASTER

The Prophet Micah prays and reminds the Lord our God of His goodness, a forgiving God and true to his promise as He have sworn in His covenant to His people. In the first reading from the Book of the Prophet Micah (Mi 7:14-15, 18-20), the Prophet evokes the faithfulness of the God of Jacob and Abraham to His promise. Also in the reading from the holy Gospel of according to Luke (Lk 15:1-3, 11-32), our Lord Jesus affirms the love of God, the ever forgiving God who is patiently waiting for the return to the fold of those who went astray. The repentant Prodigal Son humbly approaches his father and begs for his mercy and forgiveness for all the sins he has done against God and his father. Christ's parables - the Lost Sheep of the Good Shepherd and the penitent Prodigal Son reiterate the joy of heaven for every converted soul. On this Lenten Season, let us be reminded of our relationship with God. This is a season of reconciliation with God, of acknowledging our failures before God and be united with Him on the coming Passion and Death of our Holy Redeemer, a holocaust and a true sacrifice on the Holy Altar. Fr. Budge Orara will accompany us on the road to Calvary, remembering every moment that the Lord has to undertake just to highlight to us His faithfulness and love.
