DAY 24: Friday of the Third Week of Lent - SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM LENT TOWARDS EASTER

On a reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark (Mk 12: 28-34), Jesus replies to a question by a scribe on which is the first of all commandments. Jesus readily answers in the order that God has set all things, that the Lord our God is Lord alone! He added that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength. But that's not all, Jesus tells the crowd that there is one to add to complete this commandment to make it complete or full, that is, to love our neighbors as well. Once we accomplish or be perfect in following the aforesaid command from the Lord, we are not far from Heaven. The promise God has said to the people of Israel on a reading from the Book of the Prophet Hosea (Hos 14: 2-10) is assured to everyone that can perfectly follow His command as directed by our Jesus Christ.
