DAY 29: Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent - SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM LENT TOWARDS EASTER
Still the Jews failed to recognize Jesus even though they witnessed many miracles and good works that He had done. They strictly referred to the Mosaic Law and remained blind to accept and acknowledge Jesus as a Man of God. The Jews accused Jesus of breaking the Sabbath law and were further incensed by Jesus revelation or claim of Him being the Son of the Father. In the holy Gospel according to Apostle John (Jn 5:17-30), Jesus declares, "As the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also does the Son give life to those whom He chooses." For them and in accordance to their strict interpretation of the Mosaic Law, Jesus in making Himself equal to God committed blasphemy that He could be sentenced to death. Fr. Budge shares his reflections on today's readings while we are undergoing our spiritual journey this season of Lent towards Easter.
