DAY 32: Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord - SPIRITUAL JOURNEY FROM LENT TOWARDS EASTER

Emmanuel, God is with us! As foretold by Isaiah on a reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah (Is 7:10-14; 8-10), "the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son..." came to fulfillment when the angel Gabriel announced to Mary her role in Salvation History. She gave her fiat to carry and nurture the God-Man Savior in her immaculate and virginal womb to become the new tabernacle of God. The physical being or nature of Man-God came directly from the DNA cells, tissues and blood of the Blessed Virgin Mary to give life to the much awaited Messiah. The reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Lk 1:26-38) narrates the historical biblical event when God, in the form of man, walks the Earth. The Creator assumes the creation. "Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor delighted in." That is why, the Son came to do the will of the Father, - to offer His body and blood as the seal of the new covenant to save mankind (Heb10: 4-10). "Ecce venio, Domine, ut faciam voluntatem tuam." (Ps 40)

Fr. Budge Orara does his insights and reflections on the biblical readings in commemoration of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord during this spiritual journey of ours from Lent towards Easter. Salve Regina, mater misericordiae! Ave Maria, gratia plena!
