💁🏻 Concept: Keys of the Kingdom
Jesus used the phrase “keys of the kingdom” in Matthew 16:19 to describe the spiritual authority entrusted to the church, particularly through its leaders. These keys symbolize the right to proclaim the gospel, opening the door of salvation to those who believe, and the responsibility to maintain order and purity within the church through loving correction and discipline. The authority doesn’t come from human power, but from Christ Himself, who rules His church and entrusts its stewardship to His people.
