πŸ’πŸ» The Temple Cleansing – The Danger of Corrupt Worship
When Jesus entered the temple in Jerusalem, He saw people buying and selling animals and money changers doing business inside the temple. The temple was supposed to be a place of prayer and worship, but it became a place of business and profit. Jesus overturned the tables and drove them out. He said, β€œMy house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers.” Jesus was not just angry about selling things. He was angry because worship became corrupt. The people were doing religious activities, but their hearts were not focused on God. This reminds us that God is not pleased with empty religion or outward worship only. True worship must come from a heart that truly loves and honors God, not just from traditions, routines, or appearances.
