💁🏻 Moses and the Ten Commandments – God’s Holy Covenant Law
In Exodus 20, God gave the Ten Commandments to Israel at Mount Sinai. He did not give the law to save them from Egypt—they were already rescued by His grace. First, God saved them. Then, God gave them His commandments to show them how to live as His covenant people. The law has an important purpose: it shows us God’s holy character, reveals our sin, and guides believers in thankful obedience. The Ten Commandments also point us to Christ, because Jesus perfectly obeyed the law for us and took the punishment we deserve for breaking it.

Father God, when I read the Ten Commandments, I see how holy and perfect You are. I also see how often I fall short. Thank You for not giving Your law to push me away, but to show me my need for Jesus. Thank You that Jesus obeyed perfectly where I fail and carried my sin on the cross. Help me not to ignore Your commandments, but to love them because they show me what pleases You. Teach me to obey You, not to earn Your love, but because You have already loved and saved me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
