💁🏻 The Testing of Abraham’s Faith – Isaac as a Shadow of Jesus
Abraham was God’s chosen servant, and Isaac was the son God promised to him after many long years. One day, God tested Abraham by asking him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. This was very hard, but Abraham trusted God’s word and obeyed. At the last moment, God stopped Abraham and provided a ram instead. This story teaches us that God never wanted Isaac to die. He was teaching Abraham to trust Him fully. Isaac’s story also points forward to Jesus. Just as Isaac was a beloved son, Jesus is God’s beloved Son. But unlike Isaac, Jesus was truly given, showing how much God loves us.

Father God, You have shown the depth of Your love by not sparing Your own Son but giving Him up for us all. When fear and uncertainty rise, remind my heart that if You have given the greatest gift, You will surely provide everything I truly need. Because You did not withhold Jesus, I can trust Your wisdom, Your care, and Your purposes in my life. Teach me to rest in the certainty of Your generous grace, even when the path is difficult and unclear. I choose to follow You with confidence, believing that Your plans are good and perfect. I entrust myself and my whole family to Your care. In Jesus’ name, amen.
