The Gospel of Mark reminds us that our external practices must be aligned with the interiority of our lives. Very often, our external practices remain external. We do things just because it is required of us. What we should reflect on are these: Do we understand the values behind the laws and commandments of our faith? Are we living traditions that liberate us, that allow us to become better Christians?
