In today's devotions, Pastor Sumrall reminds us of the teachings of the Apostle Paul on how a culture of self-made success influenced the first-century Corinthians. He reads from 1 Corinthians 1:21-28 where the passages show how God uses what the world sees as foolish or powerless to shame the wise. Today, Christians must acknowledge that God is the source of all we are and have. We are saved and sustained by Grace. Let our boasting be in the Lord alone.
1 Corinthians 1:21, 24 & 28
Verse 21- "Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching."
Verse 24 - "But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles."
Verse 28 - "Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you."
