Growing Opportunities: How Project AID Is Supporting Farmers | World Vision Philippines
World Vision, in partnership with Citi Foundation, held the culminating activity of Project AID (Agricultural Innovation Development), part of Citi’s first Global Innovation Challenge focused on food security.
The project provided opportunities to more than 5,000 individuals from farming households in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, empowering them and strengthening their knowledge and skills in agriculture. It aimed to help participants start or scale up income-generating farm activities and develop expertise in agricultural innovation through the Agripreneur Program and the Smart Farming Technology Program.

The culminating activity celebrated the milestones and accomplishments achieved throughout the project. A blessing ceremony was held for the Mobile Market Pod, a light commercial vehicle designed to transport agricultural products directly to customers and markets, improving access to fresh food, particularly in communities located far from established marketplaces.
The activity also included the blessing of agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as the smart greenhouse facility. The smart greenhouse demonstrated the use of renewable energy and controlled production systems to improve resource efficiency, crop productivity, and resilience to changing climatic conditions. It also served as a learning hub for sustainable crop production and innovative farming practices.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our program partners for celebrating this meaningful milestone with us. Present during the culminating activity were representatives from Citi Philippines, Central Philippine State University–MPC, Technological University of the Philippines Visayas, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Municipal Mayor’s Office, the Moises Padilla Agriculture Office, the Moises Padilla Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council, as well as our church and community partners.
Together, we continue to empower farming
