Hagios : Saint of the Day ( October 12 ) - Our Lady of the Pillar

Our Lady of the Pillar is the name given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the context of the traditional belief that Mary, supernaturally appeared to the Apostle James the Greater in 40 AD while he was preaching in what is now Spain. This title is also associated with a wooden image commemorating the apparition, which is now enshrined at the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain.

Trivia:
Our Lady of the Pillar is considered the first Marian apparition, although it is unique because it is the only one to have occurred while Mary may have still been alive on Earth.
