Hagios : Saint of the Day ( October 3 ) - Saints Ewald & Ewald

Saints Ewald & Ewald, the Two Ewalds (or Two Hewalds) were Saint Ewald the Black and Saint Ewald the Fair, companions of St. Willibrord. They began their mission labors in about 690 in the ancient Saxon country, now part of Westphalia, and covered by the dioceses of Münster, Osnabrück, and Paderborn. They were martyred together at Aplerbeke, near Dortmund, Germany, by local pagans in Old Saxony about 692.
