Hagios : Saint of the Day ( October 6 ) - Saint Bruno

Saint Bruno, was born in Cologne, Germany. He became a famous teacher at Rheims and was appointed chancellor of the archdiocese at 45. He was the founder of the Carthusian Order, and he personally founded the order's first two communities. He died on October 6, 1101, in Serra San Bruno, Italy.

The Order of Carthusians, is a Latin enclosed religious order of the Catholic Church, and had its own rule, called the Statutes. Their life combines both eremitical and cenobitic monasticism.
