Hagios: Saint of the Day ( September 18 ) - Saint Joseph of Cupertino
Saint Joseph of Cupertino was an Italian Conventual Franciscan friar, born on June 17, 1603, in Copertino, Italy. He was said to have been remarkably unclever, but prone to miraculous levitation and intense ecstatic visions that left him gaping. His gifts led him to be humble, patient, and obedient, even though at times he was greatly tempted and felt forsaken by God. He died on September 18, 1663, in Osimo, Italy, and was buried in the Basilica of San Giuseppe da Copertino in Italy.
