From the "sarsuwela" "Palasyo ni Valentin by Direk Mario O'hara ( music: MInda Azarcon / Vincent A. DeJesus). "Palasyo Nin Valentin" was the 1998 winner of the sarsuwela writing competition that was sponsored by the Philippine National Centennial Commission. A popular staging of this theater piece was the one produced by the La Salle Benilde, which starred Ricky Davao, Juliene Mendoza, among others and directed by the great Nonon Padilla. Vincciko, thank you for your audio reference, your recording (yes! he recorded it himself) helped me out to come up with my own nuances.

We would like to thank all of you who have shown support by way of praying for us, watching the two shows, and just messaging us words of encouragement and inspiration. I can only be grateful for this opportunity that the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino have given us. The process of putting this show together was not at all a walk in the park as this was for most of us, not our comfort zone, but we all took the challenge with a grain of salt - that we will surface above this victoriously and learn from this genre as much as we can. We conquered our fears and delivered with flying colors by the grace of GOD from whom we give back all the glory to. I thank you so much Direk Dennis N.
