HOPE IN OUR COMPASSIONATE GOD | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (Feb 23, 2025) w/ Sign Language

Today's Gospel continues Jesus' Sermon on the Plain, which we began hearing last week.

The Lord tells His listeners and us too, the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you. What are we to do, brothers and sisters? Let us stop judging and condemning each other. Let us forgive those who hurt us and give to those who are in need. By loving our enemies and doing good to those who hate us, We will show that we are true children of God, who according to Jesus is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.

We all need God's compassion. If God treats us so kindly, we should become merciful, just as our father is merciful. Friends, we can include this practice as our way of observing the Jubilee Year of hope. This is a time for forgiveness and good work and if we seek God's forgiveness, let us also give it to those who cost us pain and suffering. Hope in God's compassion is the secret to fraternity and peace.
