How Churches Are Losing the Power of the Gospel

Compromising the Truth: Are We Losing the Power of the Gospel?
In the name of being “relevant” or “inclusive,” some churches have softened the gospel. Sin is seldom addressed, repentance takes a backseat, and sermons lean more toward self-help than self-denial.
But let’s not forget—Yahshua’s message was never meant to be comfortable. He called His followers to radical commitment, saying: “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23).
Yes, it’s hard to hear, but it’s the truth. And truth, no matter how challenging, is what sets us free.
When we water down the gospel, we strip it of its power to convict, transform, and liberate. True freedom isn’t found in feel-good messages—it comes through the Holy Spirit’s convicting and renewing work.
So, here’s the challenge: let’s create churches where masks come off, and vulnerability is welcomed. Only then can real transformation take place.
Let’s stop compromising truth for comfort.
