HRCC SUNDAY SERVICE SEPT. 20, 2026 - Standing Firm: Rejoicing in The Lord Always (Phil.4:4) by Ptr. Lito Sto. Domingo
The message from Philippians 4:4 reminds us that true joy is not found in possessions, success, or favorable circumstances, but in the Lord Himself. Paul, writing from prison, commands believers to “Rejoice in the Lord always,” showing that Christian joy is deeper than emotions—it is a settled confidence in God’s unchanging character. Joy can exist alongside sorrow, because it is anchored not in what happens around us but in who God is. Whether in abundance or need, trials or triumphs, believers can rejoice because God remains faithful, sovereign, and good.

This joy is commanded, emphasized, and repeated because we often forget. Scripture gives us countless reasons to rejoice: God’s salvation, His presence with us, His work through trials, and the eternal hope we have in Christ. Joy grows as we walk in the Spirit, meditate on God’s promises, and view life through the lens of Scripture. Even in suffering, like Paul and Silas singing in prison, we can stand firm and rejoice in the Lord. The challenge is clear: whatever our circumstances, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!”No part of this video may be cut, edited, or altered any way, as this may disrupt the intended flow and context of the sermon.
