''I wish God would just Speak to Me!''
It's so common today for Christians to not do anything until they wait for a supernatural "word from the Lord." Not surprisingly, many NEVER hear from the Lord in this way which leads them to be disappointed, or otherwise unable to move forward.
They always say, either in their hearts or out loud, "I wish God would just speak to me." But this is so short-sighted! God has already spoken to them! And His Word to them IS a supernatural word.

The Bible IS a supernatural communication from God for them. In the Bible God has spoken to the deepest needs of existence, and given every principle needed to move forward, make good choices, and follow Him in obedience to His good, and perfect, will.
So, rather than moaning "I wish God would just speak to me," we should instead prayerfully ask, "Lord, you have already spoken to me in Your Word, help me to understand and apply it."
Just as the Psalmist and Israelites recognizing God's written law in the Old Testament as His word, so too we can pray with the Psalms, "Your word is lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path...Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws." (Psalm 119:105; 108)
