Is Being a "Good Person" Enough to Get Saved?
Many believe that simply being a “good person” guarantees salvation, but does it align with the Bible’s teachings? While goodness is encouraged in scripture, salvation is not about personal virtue alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
In God’s eyes, no amount of “good deeds” can erase our sins or earn our way to His Kingdom. Jesus’ sacrifice paved the way for redemption to be available for us through grace and faith. Good works are a response to His grace, not the ticket to salvation. True salvation is a matter of surrendering to God, trusting in Christ’s work, and letting Him transform our hearts. So, while goodness is valuable, faith in Jesus is essential.
