Is it a Sin to Feel Angry?

Anger is a powerful emotion, often labeled as negative, but is it sinful? The Bible reveals a nuanced answer. Yahweh Himself expresses righteous anger at sin and injustice (Psalm 7:11). Even Yahshua displayed anger when He cleansed the temple, condemning corruption (Mark 11:15-17).

Anger, in itself, isn’t a sin—it’s a natural human response. However, how we handle anger determines whether it becomes sinful. Ephesians 4:26-27 advises, “Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath.” This verse highlights the importance of controlling anger before it leads to bitterness or destructive actions.

Unchecked anger can give the devil a foothold, damaging relationships and distancing us from Yahweh. Instead, channel anger into constructive action—fight injustice, forgive others, and seek reconciliation.

Remember, anger can be a tool for righteousness when submitted to God. The question isn’t whether you feel angry, but how you respond to it.
