IT IS FINISHED
The words "it is finished" are not words that result from failure or defeat. These are not the words spoken by the Lord that signify acceptance of defeat because of His death on the cross. Instead, it is a victorious proclamation of the victory He accomplished on the cross of Calvary. The phrase "It is finished!" comes from the Greek word "tetelestai," which means "paid in full." This term is typically used in accounting, indicating that all our debts have been paid in full.
It is a statement that Satan doesn't want to hear, but the heavens have awaited its proclamation by the Lord Jesus. It is a statement that changed the course of the world, giving glory to God the Father, shame to Satan, and sadness to hell for all eternity. This statement implies the fulfillment or completion of the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ, which was the reason He came into this world.
