IT'S OKAY TO CRY - Winner Asidor | THE ASIDORS | A Christian Song for Those Who Lost a Loved One

The day their breathing ended,
The world kept moving on;
But your world became so quiet,
As though its song were gone.
Death left an empty place there
That no one else can fill.
You know that they are resting,
But oh, you miss them still.

It’s okay to cry,
Jesus cried beside a grave.
He did not hide His sorrow;
He stood with those who ached.
It’s okay to cry;
Your tears do not mean you’ve lost faith.
The Savior who wept for His friend
Is weeping with you today.

When pain becomes too heavy,
And sleep will not come near,
Then hear the heart of Jesus:
“My child, I see each tear.
The one you love is sleeping;
Death will not always reign.
I am the resurrection—
You will see them once again.”

It’s okay to cry,
Jesus cried beside a grave.
He did not hide His sorrow;
He stood with those who ached.
It’s okay to cry;
Your tears do not mean you’ve lost faith.
The Savior who wept for His friend
Is weeping with you today.

He does not ask you to forget
Or hurry through this pain.
He lets you speak the memories
And call your loved one’s name.
So you can bring Him all your questions,
Even those you cannot say.
His wounded hands will hold you
Until resurrection day.

It’s okay to cry;
Even hope can come with tears.
You can trust His resurrection
While still wishing they were here.
It’s okay to cry;
He is patient with your pain.
And when He calls the sleeping from the grave,
You will see your loved one again.

One day His voice will wake the grave,
And death itself will die.
Until that resurrection morning,
His promise lives beyond goodbye.
