Habang abalang-abala si Martha sa pag-aasikaso kina Jesus at sa mga taong naroon, nakaupo't nakikinig naman kay Lord si Mary. Hindi nagtagal, nagreklamo na si Martha dahil tila hindi siya tinutulungan ng kapatid niya.

Nang marinig ito ni Jesus, itinuro Niya kay Martha kung ano ang higit na mas mahalaga para sa Kanya.
