Letting Go Series Part 1: Saved

Jesus saves us from sin and shallow religion. Jesus teaches about doing our acts of giving, praying, and fasting, in private, not in public to be seen by others. Why would doing these things in secret rather than out loud be important? Because God is building in us a solid core of self-giving love that is not addicted to the approval of others.

Create in us a pure heart, O God. And renew a steadfast spirit within us. Do not cast us away or take your Holy Spirit from us, but restore to us the joy of our salvation. Amen.
