LOVE IS THE ROOT OF GREATNESS | The Word Exposed w/ Cardinal Tagle (Oct 25, 2026) with Sign Language

A Pharisee asks Jesus which commandment is the greatest. We know and have even memorized Jesus’s response: “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Then, Jesus adds: “The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” This is a reminder to us, brothers and sisters: These commandments cannot be separated.

Our love for God must find its expression also in our love for our neighbors. No one loves God while being indifferent to the people around them, especially those in need. Let us pray for the grace to truly love God, and that this love might show and bear fruit in our love for our neighbors. Love is the wellspring and the summit of life. Amen.
