Today, we bring you the unravelling of the Russian military, soldiers refusing to fight, and the growing anger of the Russian people since this is no longer just about soldiers refusing to die on the front lines… People have started flooding the streets in Moscow, St Petersburg, and many other cities. If we take a look at Russia’s history, we can see that popular uprisings often start with a single spark. So, has that spark already been ignited?

In recent days, some captured Russian soldiers have broken down in tears after receiving humanitarian aid from Ukraine, showing that they were forced into war. Many of them say they were sent to the front lines without proper training, abandoned by their commanders, and have now realised the senselessness of the war. Some of the Russian soldiers who were released in prisoner exchanges even stated that they do not want to return to their own country. Because if they do, they will either be punished or sent straight back to the battlefield.
This is a major crisis for the Kremlin. Desertion rates in the Russian army are skyrocketing. Although official figures have not been disclosed, it’s well known that thousands of Russian men are fleeing to neighbouring countries like Georgia and Kazakhstan to avoid being sent to the front. Reports indicate that many soldiers within Russia are also beginning to voice their opposition to the war. Some have openly disobeyed their commanders, while others are trying to escape their units.
