Today's Devotion:

365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition

💁🏻 Concept: Imputation
To impute means to credit something to someone’s account. In the Bible, God imputes Christ’s righteousness to us, meaning He considers us righteous because of what Jesus has done, not because of our own works. Similarly, Adam’s sin is imputed to all of humanity, meaning we inherit a sinful nature. However, in Christ, the righteousness of God is credited to us, and our sins are forgiven. This divine transaction is the foundation of our justification.

📖 Bible Readings: Romans 4:3
(Romans 4:1-8; Hebrews 10:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:19; Philippians 3:9; Galatians 3:13; Isaiah 53:6)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:
1. Our righteousness is not earned, but imputed.
2. Our sins are covered by the blood of Christ.
3. Our obedience is a result of faith in God.

💪🏼 Applications:
1. Rest in the imputed righteousness of Christ.
2. Rejoice that our righteousness comes by faith.
3. Remain obedient as evidence of faith in Christ.

🎙Discussion:
Why is positional holiness always followed by practical holiness?

🙏🏼 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the incredible gift of imputed righteousness. Though I am unworthy, You have credited Christ’s perfect righteousness to my account. I stand before You, not by my own merit, but by the grace of Jesus. Help me to live in the freedom that comes from knowing my sins are forgiven and I am made righteous in Christ. May I never take this gift for granted, but live in humble gratitude, sharing the hope of this good news with others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
