The Gospel of Mark serves as a reminder that Jesus, even during His life as a human, is still beyond extraordinary. People, especially those closest to Him in His time on Earth, doubted Him. This short scenario also shows how sometimes it's our closest relatives and friends who are the most difficult ones to bring to Jesus. We are also reminded not to be discouraged by these unfortunate reactions from the people we want to show the love of God to.
